Equipment:
- Large, clear tote
- drill and 2 inch hole bit
- black spray paint
- synthetic pillow wadding or air filter
- Optional items:
- computer fan for air flow
- reptile terrarium fogger & regulator for humidity
- LED light stick for darker spaces
You can DIY these very easily. There are many videos out there to show the exact steps, including North Spore.
- Once constructed, cover bottom with substrate and inoculate in layer fashion with grain spawn.
- One layer of substrate, one layer of spawn, and so forth.
- Once the substrate is colonized, cover with casing material for fruiting such as coco coir or peat moss.
- Leave them alone to grow and harvest when caps are open but before they’ve dropped spores..
